202 - Removing Trees, Stumps, and Corduroy
These items will apply to locations outside the areas to be paid as Clearing.
Work in progress and work completed should be reported in the same manner as Clearing.
Pay quantity is shown when work for each item is completed.
All trees and stumps should be measured according to the Standard Specifications for Construction and the location of each item should be reported on the IDR when completed, including location as to stationing and distance from the centerline.
Removal of trees and stumps less than 6 inches (200 mm) in diameter, although not pay items, should still be measured and shown on the IDR to provide evidence of measurement, in case claims for payment arise.
Any disagreement concerning measurements or pay items for trees removed at or near the clearing limits should be brought to the Engineer’s attention at once.
Trees and stumps will be disposed of as specified in subsection 201.03 of the Standard Specifications for Construction.
When corduroy is found within 4 feet (1.2 m) below plan grade, its removal will be by the foot (meter) measured along the roadway centerline.
The length and stationing where corduroy was found should be clearly shown on the IDR.
Corduroy will be disposed of as specified in subsection 201.03 of the Standard Specifications for Construction.
