Each person involved in project administration and oversight should refer to Section 104, Control of Work, in the Standard Specifications for Construction for details on the authority of MDOT, the Engineer and the inspector. Information presented here is intended only to clarify the use of certain titles and references to organizational structure used throughout this manual.

An effort has been made to use the current organizational designation throughout this manual when referring to administrators, managers, Engineers and technical staff from the various offices and Support Areas with or to whom the project staff must confer, report or otherwise interact.
