Training Materials

2.1 General

The surveyor must adhere to all applicable OSHA and MIOSHA safety standards, including the appropriate traffic signs for the activities and conditions of the project.

MDOT safety expectations are outlined below and at a minimum the following components shall be outlined in a safety plan:

  • Surveyors shall obtain the appropriate permits for working within the road Right of Way from the closest Transportation Service Center (TSC).
  • Each crew shall have at least one cell phone to contact emergency personnel if necessary. A map should be in each vehicle with the location of the nearest hospital(s) located.
